Wharton ISD Goals

 

  1. Focus on strengthening all areas of the instructional program including but not limited to STEM and CTE programs
    1. By utilizing available data and collaborating with building leadership, identify areas of concern in the instructional program that require urgent attention.
    2. Develop a baseline of the current state of affairs.
    3. Include administrative leaders to develop a plan for addressing weaknesses and making needed improvements/innovations to provide a more robust curriculum that features more connected and effective instruction.
    4. By April, provide the Board with a detailed report of the action plan including possible curricular changes, staff needs, support needs and financial impact.
  2. Evaluate the current condition of all district facilities
    1. Use professional studies, either those already secured by WISD or from a new enterprise, to develop a comprehensive analysis of the state of affairs regarding all facilities in WISD.
    2. By June, provide the Board with a comprehensive description of priorities ranging from urgent to less so, with regard to facility replacements, renovations, upgrades, etc.
    3. By July, schedule a workshop with the Board to discuss needed action steps to address the priorities that result from the facilities study.
  3. Improve integration of technology to enhance instruction
    1. Utilize the collaboration of all building leaders and involve central office personnel to develop an analysis of the current state of affairs regarding district wide uses of technology only as they relate to academic instruction.
    2. By June, present to the Board a plan of action complete with recommendations for possible curricular changes, potential professional development needs, and other matters to better utilize technology to enhance instruction. Included in the report is an analysis of financial impact.
