JOE AND ALBINA ZALMAN MEMORIAL: Applicants must be US citizens and residents of Wharton County for at least 5 yrs. Preference will be given to students with backgrounds related to agriculture (i.e., children of farming families, FFA participants) and students with financial need. Application, essay and transcript must be received at Wharton county Community foundation, 102 N. Washington Street, El Campo, TX 77437 by February 28, 2017.
WHARTON COUNTY FARM BUREAU: Applicants must be the daughter, sister, son or brother of a Texas Farm Bureau member residing in Wharton County, must rank in the upper half of the graduating class and must be pursuing a degree in an approved field of study. Application, 300 word essay, 2 letters of recommendation (1 recommendation letter from a teacher & one from a business/employer) & transcript are due to the Farm Bureau, 120 N. Houston, Wharton 77488 by March 10, 2017.
WHARTON COUNTY A&M CLUB:Applicants must be entering freshman at Texas A&M University, must be in the top 20% of their class & must be active in extra-curricular activities. Application, one Texas A&M admission application essay & transcript are due to the counseling office by March 1, 2017.
JACK QUIREY CORPS OF CADETS: Applicants must be attending Texas A&M University as a member of the Corps of Cadets. Applicants should complete Wharton County A&M Club Scholarship & attach a two-page essay on "Why I want to be in the Corps of Cadets." Application, essay & transcript are due to the counseling office by March 1, 2017.
DELTA KAPPA GAMMA SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL:
Applicant must be female & will major in education. Applicant must be
recommended by her counselor, be in the top quarter of her class, graduating
from a Wharton County high school & attend college in the fall of 2017.
Application, transcript, 3 references & 2 letters of recommendation are due to counseling office by Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
WHARTON COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION: Students
must be interested in pursuing a career in law, including paralegals &
